Application for Taipei City and New Taipei City Short-Term Accommodation in Undergraduate Dormitories, Fall Semester 2024

Dear Students,

Application for Taipei City and New Taipei City Short-Term Accommodation in Undergraduate Dormitories, Spring Semester 2024, will be open soon.

  1. Eligibility:
  1. Undergraduate students with a household registry in Taipei City or New Taipei City.
  2. Students who, along with their parents, have their household registry registered outside of Taipei City and New Taipei City or in remote districts of New Taipei City (Sanzhi, Shimen, Jinshan, Wanli, Ruifang, Gongliao, Shuangxi, Pingxi, Pinglin, Wulai, Shiding, Linkou) for less than two years.
  1. Application Timeline: From 10:00 AM Sep. 6 (Fri.) to 5:00 PM Sep. 10 (Tues.), 2024 (Late applications will NOT be accepted.)

  3. Dormitory Allocation: On-Campus Dormitories for Undergraduate. When applying, applicants may add their preference for main-campus dormitories or downtown-campus dormitories. If you are unwilling to be accommodated to one of the campuses, please do not add it to your preferences.
  4. Applicant Priority: Students with the following conditions will receive priority when accommodated. Please upload the appropriate documents.
  1. Students with a documented disability. (The copied document needs to be attached.)
  2. Students with low-income households. (The low-income household certificate with the applicant’s name needs to be attached.) Students from low-income families are free for dormitory fees, but a deposit must be paid.
  3. Students with mid-low income households. (The mid-low income household certificate with the applicant’s name must be attached.) Students from mid-low income households can receive a subsidy of $ 7,000 for semester dorm fees (Please refer to VII.), and the summer accommodation fee will be reduced by 30%, but a deposit must be paid.
  4. Aboriginal students. (Household registry documents need to be attached.)
  5. Students with households registered outside of Taipei City and New Taipei City but have registered in Taipei City and New Taipei City within two years. (Household registry documents need to be attached.)
  6. Students who have a long commute to school in Taipei City and New Taipei City: Students registered in Taipei City and New Taipei City whose one-way commute takes more than 1 hour, please upload a Google Map screenshot of the time you take public transportation from your home to the school and the arrival time should before 8 a.m.
  1. Application result announcement: 2:00 PM Sep. 11 (Wed.) 2024 on the application website. Winners will be notified by email. Students who do NOT draw a dorm will randomly get a waiting list number. The waiting list will be continuously updated until Dec. 6. After that date, the number will be invalid. 
  2. Accommodation Period: From the day of notification to Jun. 14(Sat.) 2025. Please log in to the system, click the confirmation button in 3 days, complete the payment, and check in within one week of notification. Starting the week you receive the move-in notification, accommodation and dormitory internet fees will be calculated. A dormitory deposit will also be charged. When you check out, refunds will be processed under the procedures of Regulations Governing the Management of Student Dormitories, Article 24. From the second semester of the 2023-2024 academic year, Executive Yuan will subsidize the accommodation fee of on-campus dormitories for local students. General students receive a subsidy of $ 5,000 for semester dorm fees, and middle-low/low-income families receive a subsidy of $ 7,000 for semester dorm fees. The subsidy amount will be calculated based on the number of weeks from the date you receive the move-in notification.
